DIAPHRAGM AUTOMATIC CONTROL VALVES SERIES 879

Control valves series 879 can help reduce water losses and contribute to efficient water supply management. With the help of the control pilots assembled on the hydraulic valve circuits, the hydraulic regulation valves ensure the monitoring of the pressure, the flow, the levels and the pumping stations, regardless of changes in the supply network.

AVK diaphragm operated control valves are designed to provide network stability, accurate regulation, easy maintenance and long durability.

AVK control valves are available in DN50-600, with reduced and with full bore. Control valves with reduced bore are appropriate for most applications, as the smaller bore often offers more accurate regulation. Control valves with full bore are recommended, if high Kv values are needed, e.g. in front of hydrants.

The body and bonnet are made of ductile iron with fusion bonded GSK approved epoxy coating. All non-coated internals are of stainless steel.

The diaphragm is manufactured by AVK GUMMI and made of drinking water approved EPDM rubber with polyamide reinforcement.

Parabolic plug design provides precise regulation and stability at low flow. Furthermore, it reduces noise and vibration.

Pressure reducing and sustaining

ACMO S879 M120 is an automatic control valve specifically designed to maintains downstream pressure constant at a defined value and sustains a minimum upstream pressure. Stable control is independent from the variations in the water demand or supply pressure. Pilot valves detect the upstream/downstream pressures and modulate the main valve, keeping the inlet/outlet pressure set points. Pilot valves are provided with adjustable screw to pre-select the desired pressure.

Pressure relief valve

ACMO S879 M300 diaphragm operated control valve for pressure relief applications, automatically, discharges excess pressure above a pre-selected value, to prevent overpressure. The main control valve is pilot operated, capable of precise setting and easy adjustment of inlet pressure. It is usually installed on a pipe branching off from the main line.

Flow control valve

ACMO S879 M400 diaphragm operated control valve for flow control applications (FCV) automatically prevents excessive flow by limiting flow to a preselected maximum rate, regardless of changes in line pressure. The main control valve is pilot operated, capable of precise setting and easy adjustment of required flow. The valve is supplied with an orifice plate assembly; the pilot control responds to the differential pressure produced across the orifice plate installed downstream of the valve.

Flow control valve

The pressure reducing & flow control valve ACMO S879 M410 is an automatic control valve designed to achieve two goals. It maintains constant the downstream target pressure, the downstream target pressure is independent from the pressure variations and water demand of the system downstream the valve. The flow rate is maintained equal or minor to the target flow rate independently from the upstream and downstream system pressure variations. The flow control is achieved maintaining the differential pressure on the calibrated diaphragm constant. The differential pressure acts on the pilot that sets the valve obturator position according to its variations.

Altitude control valve

ACMO S879 M800 diaphragm operated control valve for level control applications with altitude pilot is an automatic control valve that controls reservoir filling and reservoir level without the need for floats or other devices. It is a non-modulating
one-way valve that remains fully open until the shut-off point is reached. The pilot control operates on the differential forces between a spring load and the water level in the reservoir.

Modulating float control valve

ACMO S879 M500A diaphragm control valve for level control applications with modulating horizontal float is an automatic control valve that maintains a relatively water level in a reservoir regardless of the varying demand. It can be installed to control the flow into or out of the reservoir. The float control pilot is remotely mounted into the reservoir, connected to the valve cover by the means of a control pipe. The float control moves when the water level changes; this action varies the pressure in the upper control chamber, causing the main valve to throttle and regulate the flow.

ACMO S879 M500 diaphragm control valve for level control applications with modulating vertical float is an automatic control valve that maintains a constant water level in a reservoir regardless of the varying demand.

Min-max level control float valve

The min-max level control valve is an automatic control valve designed to control the level in a reservoir. The sliding float, which operates on the two-way pilot, allows controlling the min-max level of the reservoir. The main valve closes when the fluid reaches the max. level and opens again when the fluid reaches the min. level. The valve can be closed and opened manually operating on the pilot.

Surge anticipator pressure relief valve

Is an automatic control valve designed to protect pumping systems from over-pressure waves generated by sudden speed changes that occur when the pumps shut down. When a sudden, abnormal shut down of the pump (e.g. power cut off) occurs, the downstream pipeline pressure suddenly drops due to flow inertia and then increases (even significantly) above the static pressure (water hammer). The pilot system of the surge valve uses the initial pressure drop to control the opening of the main valve. During the second stage, the increasing line pressure discharges to atmosphere through the open main valve, preventing water hammer. During the third stage or under normal operations, the main valve operates as a high pressure relief function with the high pressure pilot setting (that can be easily adjusted).
